Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland took care of a key matter of business this offseason, re-signing forward Ryan McLeod to a two year, $2.1 million deal to keep him a member of the Oilers for the foreseeable future.
And according to McLeod, he said that he left money on the table to accept a lesser deal than what he could have gotten in order to help the Oilers have as much as possible in order to make a deep postseason run.
He also explained why he didn't go the salary arbitration route like 22 of his fellow NHL players chose to do so:
In 57 games last season, McLeod scored 11 goals with 12 assists. In 138 career NHL games, he's scored 20 goals with 25 assists.
