Oilers make trade during tonight’s game!
TRADE ALERT! Edmonton made a move during the game against the Devils.
The Edmonton Oilers announced a trade during tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils. It was confirmed that the Oilers flipped defenseman Ben Gleason to the Philadelphia Flyers in return for defenseman Ronnie Attard.
In Arrard, the Oilers are getting a 25-year-old forward, who has played 29 games in the NHL over the past three seasons. He has recorded two goals and adding four assists. He was originally selected 72nd overall by the Flyers in the 2019 NHL Draft.
As for Gleason, he has not played in the NHL since the 2018-19 season when he suited up in four games with Dallas Stars. He was never drafted in the NHL and signed a free agent in Dallas in 2018.
In July of 2023, he then signed in Edmonton, but never played a game for the club, staying put with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
