Oilers confirm injuries to Yamamoto and McLeod.

The latest on the injured Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers are getting pretty banged up this season and unfortunately the team received more bad news on Sunday night when a pair of injuries were confirmed by the club.

Both forward Kailer Yamamoto and forward Ryan McLeod will now be headed to injured reserve, meaning that both men will be out of action for at least a week while they recover from their respective injuries.

In the case of McLeod, while we do know that he was hurt during a game against the New York Islanders last week the source of that injury has not been disclosed.

Yamamoto on the other hand appears to be dealing with a lingering head and neck issue that dates back to the preseason, which is never a good sign.

The Oilers have made a pair of corresponding moves by calling up 23 year old forward James Hamblin as well as 24 year old forward from the Bakersfield Condors

Benson has appeared in 36 NHL games for the Oilers over the course of the last few seasons, picking up 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points over that stretch, but Hamblin has no NHL experience under his belt as of yet.
