OHL hands out ridiculous suspension after goalie tilt
Really? Is the OHL that soft these days?
HockeyFeed
In case you missed it this past weekend we had a good, old fashioned goalie fight in the OHL courtesy of Peterborough Petes goaltender Liam Sztuska and Ottawa 67's goaltender Collin Mackenzie.
The two netminders squared off at center ice while the on-ice officials were busy separating their teammates/opponents. MacKenzie looked to land the first punch, a huge right hand, but Sztuska clocked MacKenzie back with a right of his own and took him down HARD.
Check it out:
Old time hockey, baby. You love to see it.
Well, you love to see it unless you're the OHL, I guess. That's because the league handed out matching three game suspensions to both Sztuska and Mackenzie for their efforts.
Are you serious? A three game sussy for a scrap? What is junior hockey coming to?
