3 fights in the opening 10 seconds between Canada and USA.
All hell breaks loose between Canada and the USA from the opening face-off!
Holy hell what a start to this one!
If there was any doubt that the on-ice rivalry between Team Canada and Team USA had survived the decade long drought when it comes to best on best international hockey, those doubts were erased in the opening 9 seconds of Saturday night's game during the Four Nations Face-Off.
Three fights would break out in the opening 9 seconds of the game with tensions boiling over from the opening face-off. It would be Matthew Tkachuk and Brandon Hagel who would get things started after some words were exchanged prior to the puck even being dropped, resulting in both men immediately dropping the gloves.
Not to be outdone by his brother, Brady Tkachuk would quickly follow that up with a scrap of his own when he took on his brother's teammate in Sam Bennett. Bennett and Brady Tkachuk would drop the gloves just seconds after the first fight with barely any time expiring on the game clock between the first two fights.
We would get a few seconds before the next fight, but only a few, as J.T. Miller and Colton Parayko would drop the gloves for the third fight of the game after just 9 seconds of actual play. This one occurred after a bit of a scrum in front of Canadian goaltender Jordan Binnington, with Parayko clearly getting the better of Miller in this exchange.
