And there it is!
Farmington Hills native Alex DeBrincat is officially a member of the Detroit Red Wings. He was acquired from the Ottawa Senators in a deal that sent Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, and a conditional 1st round pick and a 4th round pick in 2024.
As reported earlier, the trade also comes with a contract extension:
Kubalik is coming off his first season with the Red Wings after having agreed to a two-year deal last summer. He tallied 20 goals with 25 assists last year, which included a very hot start to the campaign before cooling off.
Meanwhile, DeBrincat has developed his reputation as a goal scorer the last several years, having scored 40 goals on two separate occasions with the Chicago Blackhawks. In his first and only season with the Senators, DeBrincat scored 27 goals while also adding 39 assists, good for 4th in team scoring.
