The Calgary Flames have already shed several pieces of the team that were with them at the end of last season, including the likes of Tyler Toffoli, Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. Additionally, there have been heavy rumors surrounding the futures of Jacob Markstrom and Noah Hanifin along with Chris Tanev with the franchise.

And as the National Hockey League Trade Deadline approaches, Flames general manager Craig Conroy is expected to be among the busiest executives in the League.

As far as the future of Hanifin is concerned, it appears as though there's one particular destination that he prefers and could sign a long term deal with. According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, Hanifin would prefer to agree to a lengthy pact with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Additionally, Seravalli expressed that Hanifin may not be actually dealt to Tampa at the Deadline, and could serve as a rental acquisition for another team before joining the Lightning over the summer.

Hanifin, who has scored nine goals with 21 assists in 55 games played this season, is a pending unrestricted free agent at the end of the season with a cap hit of $4,950,000.
