Nikita Zadorov has made his choice!
The much sought after veteran defenseman has agreed to terms on a new deal with a new team!
One of the most sought after defensemen expected to hit the free agent market today is coming off of the board early.
According to a report from NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal, Nikita Zadorov has come to terms on a brand new deal with a brand new team. Although the terms of the contract were not disclosed by Dhaliwal, he is reporting that Zadorov will officially be joining the Boston Bruins for next season.
Zadorov's physical style of play made him a desirable asset for many teams around the NHL, including his former team the Vancouver Canucks. There were reportedly a large number of teams interested in his services, so this will feel like a big win for Bruins general manager Don Sweeney and company.
Zadorov's physical style will bring an edge back to the Bruins that the team feels it has lacked in recent years, with Zadorov very much being the kind of player that fits the historical mold of a 'Big, Bad, Bruin' to a tee.
Zadorov split time between the Calgary Flames and the aforementioned Canucks last season, appearing in a total of 75 regular season games and recording 6 goals and 14 assists for a total of 20 points along the way.
