NHL attendance numbers are in and the top teams may surprise you

If someone would have told you five years ago that Las Vegas, Nevada would be one of the biggest hockey markets in terms of ticket sales you’d have either:
A) Laughed right in their stupid face
or
B) Said, “They don’t even have a team, idiot…”
Well… who’s the idiot with the stupid face now?
According to a list of rankings by NBC which measured average attendance and percentage of seats filled per game, the Vegas Golden Knights rank 2nd in the NHL, behind just the Chicago Blackhawks and ahead of hockey mad markets like Minnesota and Toronto. Unreal.

Safe to say that hockey has worked out juuuuuuuuust fine in the Nevada desert. Now… as for the Arizona desert…
Yikes…
Filling out the bottom five, as seen above, are the New York Islanders (who play in a tiny building far from their fanbase), the Florida Panthers, Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators.
Maybe these teams could take a queue from the Knights on how to put butts into seats:
