More details on rescheduling of Red Wings vs Maple Leafs.

The National Hockey League has been forced to rescheduled tonight's game, here is the reason why.

Earlier today the National Hockey League announced that it would be rescheduling tonight's game between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, moving the game from it's originally scheduled time of 7:00 pm EST and bumping it back a half hour to 7:30 pm EST.

It appeared to be a strange decision given that it brought the game closer into conflict with a National Football League game tonight that is competing for eyeballs in the Detroit market, a clash between the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams, but as it turns out the NHL had little choice in the matter.

NHL insider Chris Johnston was the first to report the reason for the rescheduling of tonight's game, reporting that inclement winter weather had negatively impacted the Red Wings' travel plans.

Mike Stephens then chimed in with more specific details, indicating that the Red Wings have yet to arrive in Toronto with that arrival not expected until 4:30 pm EST. That obviously puts the Red Wings on an incredibly tight schedule when it comes to getting through downtown Toronto and to the arena, too tight it would seem given the need to reschedule the game.

This is no doubt going to make this a tough outing for the Red Wings this evening.
