UPDATE: NHL insider Frank Seravalli is adding a bit of clarity to some murky trade details this evening.

This much we know: The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded forward Jake Guentzel to the Carolina Hurricanes. Michael Bunting is part of a package deal heading back to the Penguins, but we don't yet know the full details of the trade.

Additionally though, Seravalli is now reporting that a contract extension between Guentzel and the Hurricanes is not part of the deal.

TSN NHL insider Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the Pittsburgh Penguins are trading forward Jake Guentzel to the Carolina Hurricanes. Forward Michael Bunting is expected to be part of the trade and has been withheld from the Hurricanes' lineup for tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
