Monster trade scenario emerges linking Oilers and Bruins!
“Move heaven and earth” to pull this off!

Ever since the Edmonton Oilers placed goalie Jack Campbell on waivers and later assigned him to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, fans and pundits have linked the Canadian team to different trade targets in hope that GM Ken Holland can get immediate help in between the pipes.
The Oilers have therefore been linked to the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings, who both carry three goalies and are potentially looking to make a move. However, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman has reported that although Edmonton has talked to Montreal about the possibility of Jake Allen, the insider doesn’t sense anything imminent.
Rumours have also linked the Oilers to St. Louis Blues’ Jordan Binnington and Philadelphia Flyers’ Carter Hart, but it feels like it’d be too much finagling to make one of these transactions happen.
And if you thought those rumours were bold, wait till you hear what insider Kevin Weekes had to suggest when it comes to a monster trade scenario that could change the Oilers’ destiny in a heartbeat. Weekes spoke on OverDrive and claims that he “would move heaven and earth to acquire Jeremy Swayman if he were the Oilers.”
“I don’t care what the price is! That’s who I would go out and get.
“I would pay the moon, the stars and the sun. I’d even bring one of the three wisemen in, throw them in the deal!”
(His full trade fantasy at the 36th minute of the video):
This is not the first time Swayman has been linked to the Oilers. Before the season got underway, talks had surfaced that Holland called the Boston Bruins to check in on the availability of Swayman and fellow netminder Linus Ullmark.
Swayman was in contract negotiations during the summer and finally agreed to a one-year deal in arbitration worth $3.475 million. The Bruins might have gone around during that time to see trade interest out there, and probably never expected the Oilers could come back, begging for Swayman.
That’s not what’s happening at the moment, but it sure sounds like it’d be what Weekes would do if he were Holland in Edmonton!
