The Minnesota Wild suffered a humbling loss at the hands of the Nashville Predators last night, dropping a 6-1 final at Bridgestone Arena. And there was some extracurricular activity that resulted in a pair of fines from the National Hockey League Department of Player Safety.
Wild forward Mats Zuccarello took a swing at Nashville's Michael McCarron from the bench, and now both players have been assessed a fine of $2,000.
Zuccarello has scored 11 goals with 39 assists in 51 games played for the Wild this season.
The loss by the Wild dropped them back eight points of the Predators for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
