Milan Lucic destroys Kurtis MacDermid on Saturday night.

Holy cow what a shot.

For many years Calgary Flames forward Milan Lucic was among the most feared players in the entire National Hockey League. Although that may no longer be the case as Lucic has grown older and put more wear and tear on his body, on Saturday night he reminded everyone that he is still not a man to be trifled with.

Lucic and his Flames were taking on the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night and it was during the closing minutes of the second period that the Avalanche would awaken the beast that stirs within Milan Lucic. After the play had been blown dead there was some pushing and shoving behind the Avalanche's net when both Avalanche defenseman Andreas Englund and Avalanche defenseman Kurtis MacDermid decided to get up in Lucic's grill.

Lucic however was having none of it and it wasn't long before both he and MacDermid decided to drop the gloves and settle the score. This one almost didn't happen though as the officials stepped in to stop the two men, but Lucic looked at one official and appeared to utter the words "let him go" and we were off to the races.

Both men exchanged some hard shots in this one, but it would be Lucic who would seal the deal with the biggest shot of the bout. Lucic hammered MacDermid with a huge shot over the top that sent him crashing to the ice, and appeared to do some significant damage to the Avalanche defenseman's face as well considering that he was bloodied up as he skated back to the locker room for repairs.
