Matt Rempe’s NHL career in jeopardy according to top insider!

The Rangers’ forward was suspended eight games on Sunday and this is just the brutal truth here:

Chris Gosselin

On Sunday, New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe received an eight-game suspension for elbowing/boarding, in which he will have to forfeit $80,000. This incident took place during the third period of a game between the Blue Shirts and the Dallas Stars on Friday evening. Miro Heiskanen has already let go of the puck when Rempe came flying in with his elbow directed at the head of the defenseman. The NHL Department Of Player Safety referred to the hit as “boarding / elbowing.”

The league is sending Rempe a message and so was NHL insider Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet when he spoke about the Rangers’ forward’s career while adding a significant warning. Friedman is adamant that the young enforcer must learn from these kinds of mistakes if not, his NHL career could come to an end soon.

He deserved the suspension for it and all I can say is I hope he learns his lessons… He’s just gotta learn his lessons, and if he doesn’t, then, you know, he’s gonna keep getting suspended or eventually his NHL dreams will come to an end,” Friedman said.

The 6-foot-7 monster has been assessed four game misconducts as well as eight major penalties in 22 regular-season games for New York. He’s already a repeat offender.

The Rangers have sent Rempe up and down from The American Hockey League through the course of this season, and he was given a chance to prove his worth as the team faces significant struggles.

Now it’s Rempe who needs to look at himself in the mirror and make the changes he needs to be a good player and stay out of trouble.
