Immediate update on Sidney Crosby’s trade rumour following massive deal in Colorado

After the Avs moved Mikko Rantanen in a stunning blockbuster on Friday, rumours immediately emerged that Crosby was joining MacKinnon in Denver. This is what’s being said about that in the link below:

On Friday evening, a blockbuster trade took place as the Carolina Hurricanes made a major move to bolster their forwards group. The Canes are acquiring right winger Mikko Rantanen from the Colorado Avalanche, along with veteran forward Taylor Hall from the Chicago Blackhawks. The three-team trade has been unfolding, with the Avalanche will receive centres Martin Necas and Jack Drury, and the Blackhawks will get a third-round pick and retain 50 per cent of Rantanen’s $9.25M cap hit.

With the Avalanche parting with Rantanen and seemingly making room for more moves, chatter got loud that Colorado could be going after Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby.

For years now, fans have dreamt of seeing Crosby land in Denver where he would play alongside close friend Nathan MacKinnon.

With the rumours taking over social media, insider Chris Johnston shared this update on the situation in Pittsburgh and if the captain could be on the move:

Unless something changes — and at this point I have absolutely ZERO reason to believe it will — Sidney Crosby isn’t being traded out of Pittsburgh. He’s an untouchable as far as the Pens are concerned, plus he’s got a no-movement clause and no desire to be dealt.

In Pittsburgh, general manager Kyle Dubas always appears ready to make wild moves, however, there is no doubt that Crosby is an untouchable and no one sees him ever playing for a franchise other than the Penguins.

As for watching Crosby and MacKinnon play together, fans will get to see them as teammates for Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off next month.
