The Montreal Canadiens pulled off a huge win on Friday night over the Washington Capitals but unfortunately for the Canadiens it was a victory that came with a cost.

During the course of the game  the Canadiens would lose goaltender Samuel Montembeault, who pulled himself out of the game after suffering an undisclosed injury of some kind. There was speculation that Montembeault may have injured his left leg as he appeared to reach for it after making a save, but there has been no official update from the Canadiens as of yet.

On Monday, Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis was asked about the status of Montembeault but he wasn't very forthcoming in his official update.

"I have no idea," said St. Louis when asked if he was ruling Montembeault out for Game 4. "He's being evaluated today."

What St. Louis did answer was questions about his confidence in backup goaltender Jakub Dobes.

"I think what he did for us this year, he came in and had an incredible start, then he had a bit of a tougher stretch for a young goaltender but he finished strong," said St. Louis of Dobes. "The last two games he played when you think about it, we needed those points, he played and he delivered good performances."

St. Louis' next comments about Dobes made it sound like he could very well be the man starting Game 4 for the Canadiens.

"We know he can do it," said St. Louis. "We have to play well enough in front of him that he doesn't have to steal the game. I think he's capable of delivering that as well, and I believe he will be ready for anything and we are gonna try to help him."

The Habs head coach had nothing else to share on Montembeault and, at least for now, it sure sounds like Dobes may be the man in net for Game 4.
