Martin Jones finds out his fate
The Leafs signed him this offseason, but waived him.

The Toronto Maple Leafs went out and signed veteran goaltender Martin Jones to serve as backup to starter Ilya Samsonov, but they've elected to go in a different direction - especially with young Joseph Woll having emerged and played admirably last season in the playoffs after Samsonov went down with injury.
Jones was placed on waivers, and the thought by many was that the Tampa Bay Lightning could come calling after the loss of goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy for the first several weeks of the season after undergoing surgery.
But Jones has cleared waivers, and he's on his way to the American Hockey League affiliate Toronto Marlies. Right now, the Leafs will be rolling with the tandem of Samsonov and Woll up front with Jones in the minors to be able to step in should one of the formers suffer injury.
In his NHL career, Jones has amassed a record of 225-163-35 with a 2.71 goals against average, .905 save percentage and 28 shutouts.
