Marc-Andre Fleury reveals why he pulled a prank on his teammates on his night off

Last night, Fleury has some fun with his teammates and came prepared. See how it all went down:

On Tuesday night, goalie Marc-Andre Fleury proved he was in midseason form as he took advantage of a night off to have some fun with his Minnesota Wild teammates. As his team was facing the Chicago Blackhawks at Xcel Energy Center last night, Fleury pulled a prank of his buddies when he dressed up as one member of the team’s ice crew while donning a fake mustache and glasses. Evidently he fit in too well though because even after he skated by the team’s bench and shouted, “Let’s get it going, boys!” his teammates still didn’t recognize him!

On Wednesday, Fleury was asked about the prank and revealed part of what convinced him to get a disguise together and have some fun before the 2024-25 regular season gets underway in less than a week. Per Jessi Pierce, Fleury, who is beloved around the league and known for his adorable sense of humour, brought his own mustache for this bit with the Wild’s ice crew.

“I was having a little talk with the staff in the morning. Just looking for things to do and I got a little bit of a dare I guess, so.”

The Wild came out on top with the convincing 7-2 victory over the Hawks and managed to get a good laugh after the game was over, finding out about their goalie’s antics.

This is a farewell tour for the veteran netminder, who has chosen to retire after his 21st season this upcoming summer and it feels like he also wants to be reminded as one of the best pranksters in the NHL.

His teammates are well aware of it too, as no one can forget how he removed all the tires from former Wild forward Brandon Duhaime who has made the mistake of covering Fleury’s SUV with toilet paper.

I feel like the NHL will never be the same once Flower hangs up the pads.
