The Toronto Maple Leafs are fresh off a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, and they're gearing up to take on the recently revamped Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow night.
And according to the latest line combinations that the Leafs skated with during their practice session, it looks as though captain John Tavares has once again been moved down in the lineup.
According to Maple Leafs Daily, the following changes have been made to the lineup for tomorrow's game, and it may take a bit to get through them all:
-Pontus Holmberg skating on the top line with Auston Matthews and Tyler Bertuzzi
-Max Domi shifting back up to 2C, along with William Nylander and Bobby McMann
-John Tavares dropping down to 3C, playing with Matthew Knies and the recently recalled Nicholas Robertson, who had been skating as an extra this week
-Ryan Reaves coming out of the lineup in favour of Noah Gregor, who is slated to skate with newcomer Connor Dewar and David Kampf
The following line combinations were used:
Bertuzzi - Matthews - Holmberg
McMann - Domi - Nylander
Knies - Tavares - Robertson
Dewar - Kampf - Gregor
Extra: Reaves
Brodie - McCabe
Rielly - Timmins
Edmundson - Liljegren
Extras: Giordano, Benoit
Keefe touched on the return of Robertson to the lineup, saying that these situations are where he's at his best.
"This is a spot where Robby has been at his best," Keefe said. "He has been in and out of the lineup and comes in and gives us a boost. That is what this scenario is right now. Just go out and be at your best. He has played his best hockey when he has been out of the lineup and has come back in. We fully expect him to make an impact."
Tomorrow's game against the Carolina Hurricanes is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM, and the Canes feature new forwards Jake Guentzel and Evgeni Kuznetsov, both of whom were acquired at the Trade Deadline.
