Maple Leafs mourn passing of Leigh Verstraete
He played a handful of games for the Leafs in his career.

A former member of the Toronto Maple Leafs has passed away, as announced on social media. Goaltender Leigh Verstraete, who played eight games for the Leafs in the 1980s, has died at the age of 61.
The NHL Alumni Association released the following statement on X (Twitter):
"The NHL Alumni Association is saddened to learn that Leigh Verstraete has passed away at the age of 61.
Leigh was drafted in the 10th round of the 1982 NHL Draft to the Maple Leafs. He played in 8 regular-season games for the Leafs, and continued his pro career in the AHL over 6 seasons.
We send our deepest condolences to Leigh’s family, friends, and former teammates during this difficult time."
