Maple Leaf returns to practice ahead of clash with Oilers.

A positive sign for the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, but nothing has been made official just yet.

The Toronto Maple Leafs received some welcome news on Saturday morning ahead of a clash against a tough opponent in the Edmonton Oilers.

After missing practice earlier in the week due to illness, Maple Leafs forward Tyler Bertuzzi was spotted back on the ice on Saturday, a good sign given that the morning skate was an optional one. That does not however guarantee that Bertuzzi will be back in the lineup for the Maple Leafs this evening.

Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe was asked about the availability of Bertuzzi this evening, but Keefe did not provide any clarity and instead left things open ended. The Leafs bench boss would only say that Bertuzzi is a game time decision, which means we will likely have to wait until the Leafs hit the ice for warm ups to know for sure if Bertuzzi will be ready to go tonight or not.

The Maple Leafs will need all the help they can get against the playoff bound Edmonton Oilers this evening as they will be going into this contest with a significant hole in their lineup. Star forward Mitch Marner remains sidelined with what is believed to be a high ankle sprain, making a potential Bertuzzi return this evening all that much more crucial for the Maple Leafs.
