Earlier this week Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar terrified an entire fanbase when he announced that superstar Nathan MacKinnon had left the team to diagnose a potential hand injury suffered in a fight against Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba.

MacKinnon and Dumba dropped the mitts after Dumba laid a HUGE open ice hit on MacKinnon's teammate Mikko Rantanen.

MacKinnon missed the team's next game against the Calgary Flames, but Bednar reported today that MacKinnon has re-joined the team and will play this evening against the San Jose Sharks.

You hear that sound? That's an entire fanbase breathing a huge sigh of relief. MacKinnon has 22 goals and 70 points in 51 games for the powerhouse Avalanche this season.
