Luongo starred in the QMJHL, playing three seasons with the Val d'Or Foreurs and one season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. It was with Val d'Or where Luongo established himself as the best goaltender in junior hockey and a top prospect for the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Following a strong campaign with Val d'Or and with Team Canada at the 1997 World Junior Championships, Luongo was selected 4th overall by the New York Islanders in '97. Of course, he'd go on to play with the Florida Panthers and establish himself as one of the game's all-time greats during his time with the Canucks.

Luongo still holds a majority of the Canucks' all-time goaltending records and virtually every Panthers goaltending record.

Luongo ended his NHL playing career ranking second in NHL history in games played by a goaltender (1,044), third in wins (489) and ninth in shutouts (77). He is of only three goaltenders in NHL history to have played 1,000 NHL games.

Luongo was also a three-time finalist for the Vezina Trophy (2003-04, 2006-07, 2010-11), a finalist for the Hart Memorial Trophy (2006-07) and was a finalist for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy (2017-18). Now you can add QMJHL Hall of Famer to his list of career accomplishments.
