Leafs scratch 2 regulars ahead of clash with Blues.
Two regulars scratched for the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night including a fairly surprising one.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are making a regular a healthy scratch on Saturday night as head coach Craig Berube prepares to take on his former team, the St. Louis Blues and unfortunately it is a situation that the player in question is all too familiar with.
Forced to sit on the sidelines will be Maple Leafs forward Nicholas Robertson who, despite a strong showing in the preseason, has picked up just a single point, a goal, during his 10 appearances for the Leafs thus far in the 2024-25 regular season. You know that Berube likely wants to desperately win this game after his first game against his former team didn't go so well earlier this season, which may not be a good sign for Robertson considering he is being scratched.
That is especially true when you consider the fact that Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves is slotted into the lineup tonight, although Reaves himself is quite familiar with the Blues as well as a former member of that organization himself. That may have played a role in Berube's decision, but that is only speculation on my part.
