Awful scene in Buffalo as Mike Reilly brutally hits his head and passes out on the ice
A scary situation in Buffalo during the game between the Islanders and the Sabres. See the video down below:
A very scary scene took place on Friday night in Buffalo when in the second period of the game between the New York Islanders and Sabres, the stretcher came out for defenseman Mike Reilly.
The Islanders defenseman went down hard after he was hit along the board by Jordan Greenway. As Reilly went down, his feet flew high up and he brutally smashed his head on the ice. He was down and motionless on the ice for some time as trainers rushed to him. They initially brought a stretcher out but they didn’t need it, as trainers got Reilly back on his feet with the help of teammates that led him off the ice.
There was no penalty on the play. Let’s hope now that Reilly gets better. I am sure the Islanders will provide an update on his condition after the game or in the coming days.
I don’t expect Reilly to return to action tonight.
