The Toronto Maple Leafs are still left picking up the pieces after yet another Round 1 exit from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, meaning that they still have one lone advancement to Round 2 since 2004.

For Leafs captain John Tavares, he has one year remaining on the seven year pact that he signed with his hometown team after being lured away from the New York Islanders, and there is speculation regarding his future with the team as a famed member of the "Core 4" alongside Auston Matthews, William Nylander and Mitch Marner.

But for now, Tavares will be taking his talents overseas and representing Canada in the 2024 World Championship in Czechia, adding to the many times that he's played on the international stage.
