Everyone was accounted for at the Toronto Maple Leafs’ practice on Friday when, unfortunately for forward Calle Jarnkrok, he had to leave his teammates before the end of the skate.

Jarnkrok reportedly blocked a point shot with his left hand during practice and immediately knew something was wrong. He was seen leaving the rink as he slammed his glove down in frustration and headed to the team’s dressing room.

The Maple Leafs’ practice had started off on the right foot when forward Tyler Bertuzzi rejoined the team after being away with his wife giving birth to the couple’s second child. He only missed the team’s 1-0 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night.

When everyone was on the ice, team insider Jonas Siegel had pointed out that the Maple Leafs would be forced to make a roster move to get to 23 players by 5pm. It sounds like that could be Jarnkrok heading to the team’s injured reserve if ever the injury to his left hand is serious and needs time off.

Bobby McMann has also been placed on the Injured Reserve with an undisclosed injury.

We will now more later today with head coach Sheldon Keefe expected to provide an update on Jarnkrok and possibly a statement on the projected line up for Saturday’s game against the Jets, again, but this time in Winnipeg.

The Jets are believed to be more healthy than first expected with forwards Gabriel Vilardi, Mark Scheifele, and defenseman Josh Morrissey all practicing with the Jets in regular jerseys on Friday.

Morrissey left Thursday’s 1-0 overtime loss in the first period with a lower-body injury. As for Vilardi, he missed the team’s last two games with an undisclosed injury and Scheifele has missed the team’s last five games and has been day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
