Kane to Detroit : “Why in the hell would he go there?”
This could mean that Patrick Kane has changed his mind about the Red Wings:

There have been rumours swirling around that free agent winger Patrick Kane is interested in joining the Detroit Red Wings. The rumour emerged when the free agent, who’s currently in recovery after going hip resurfacing surgery, mentioned his desire to reunite with his former teammate Alex DeBrincat.
The 2023-24 season is just around the corner but Kane is expected to be healthy in November or December, which gives him plenty of time to study the landscape and cap situation of NHL teams before making a decision.
This is why Andy Strickland of the Cam and Strick podcast believes the idea of Kane signing with the Red Wings is ridiculous.
“Kane going to the Detroit Red Wings makes zero sense. Why in the hell would he go there? And nothing against who’s there already, they have a good young team, they’ve got Dylan Larkin, they have good veterans obviously with David Perron, […] obviously they just got DeBrincat. They’ve got some pieces, but Patrick Kane is not even going to be available until after the season starts, don’t you think he’s gonna want to sit back and see how all the teams are doing and say ‘okay where can I go to put myself in a situation to win another Stanley Cup?’”
There is no doubt that Kane has made great process since the surgey and could return sooner than first expected. But the 34-year-old is also more aware of his aging body and time slipping away for another shot at a championship.
Kane isn’t a fit in Detroit for that reason alone, along with other cap and roster details. He may love the idea of reuniting with DeBrincat, but I feel like he’ll be able to put up points no matter where he goes. And therefore, why not join a contender?
