It's safe to say at this point that St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington may have an anger management problem. Of course, we all remember when he was pulled against the San Jose Sharks not long ago and challenged goaltender Devan Dubnyk as he was leaving the ice. He also threw a water bottle at former Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri while the latter was giving a postgame interview - and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
During last night's game against the Los Angeles Kings at Enterprise Center, Binnington turned in one of his poorer performances, allowing five goals midway through the 2nd period on just 18 Kings shots, and was yanked by head coach Craig Berube in favor of backup Thomas Greiss.
But on his way to the Blues bench, Binnington decided to try and have words with the Kings bench.
Yeah, not the best idea, especially after the Kings gave Binnington a sunburn on the back of his neck from the amount of times the red light went on behind him.
The Blues are certainly singing their namesake right now, as they stand at a pedestrian 3-5 so far on the young 2022-23 NHL season following the 5-1 setback. Can they right the ship? They'll certainly need Binnington in the right frame of mind to do so.
