It would seem that a significant portion of those representing the country of Canada at the Four Nations Face-Off tournament have been less than pleased with the behavior on display from some of their countrymen in recent weeks.

Canadian star forward Brad Marchand has already expressed his distaste for his fellow Canadians protesting the American national anthem, making it crystal clear that he does not support those actions, and now another member of Team Canada is speaking out ahead of arguably the biggest game of the tournament.

Canadian head coach Jon Cooper has now also expressed his objection to the booing of the American national anthem, making it clear that he would much prefer everyone showing up to the game between Canada and the USA tonight focus on the sport of hockey.

"We hope it doesn’t happen," said Cooper. "Everybody should come, cheer for the great game, and leave that part out of it."

Cooper made it clear that he hopes both anthems will be respected tonight and it seems fair to suggest that this is the prevailing sentiment in Canada's locker room coming into tonight's game.

Whether or not the fans who paid good money to attend tonight's game in Montreal will respect Cooper's wishes remains to be seen but, with so many prominent Canadians speaking out against the practice, these recents comments may help dissuade at least some fans who had been planning to boo the American anthem tonight.
