Johnny Gaudreau’s wife Meredith shares heartfelt update on her pregnancy
Beautiful, but so heartbreaking at the same time.
The widow of the late NHL star Johnny Gaudreau, Meredith, continue to prepare for the arrival of the couple’s third child.
On Sunday, Meredith Gaudreau reposted a series of images and videos on her Instagram account from a joint baby shower with fellow hockey wives Kelly Labanc and Aleksandra Merzlikins that was hosted at the Cambridge Tea House in Columbus, Ohio. The wife of Boone Jenner, Maggie, along with other members of the Columbus Blue Jackets family were in attendance to celebrate Gaudreau, Labanc and Merzlikins’ new additions to their families.
While this is so heartbreaking to know that Meredith Gaudreau is getting ready to welcome a third baby into her family without Johnny around, it is also very comforting to know that she has a lot of friends and support through this.
She looked amazing and happy surrounded by supportive women.
It was at Johnny’s, and his younger brother Matthew’s, memorial that Meredith announced her pregnancy. She said her late husband “was beaming and so excited” about becoming a family of five.
“His reaction was just immediately kissing me and hugging me,” she said, noting the pregnancy was a “total surprise” to them.
Tragically, the Gaudreau brothers were struck and killed by a drunk driver while riding bikes in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, on August 29, on the eve of their sister Katie’s wedding, where both brothers were to be groomsmen.
Johnny was 31 years old at the time of his death, while Matthew was 29. Meredith Gaudreau and Johnny also shared daughter Noa and son Johnny. Matthew Gaudreau’s wife, Madeline, gave birth to the the couple’s first child, a son named Tripp, who was born in late December.
Johnny and Meredith’s third child will soon be coming into this world and is already loved so much by his mother and family, and will have a special angel looking down from Heaven.
