John Klingberg submits 10-team trade list
Trade chatter gets louder with this update:

There was a sense that the Anaheim Ducks weren’t going to trade defenseman John Klingberg ahead of January 1st. The team has hoped the blue liner would have a great season as their new free agency addition, however, the first half of the campaign hasn’t gone as planned.
But there is still time for Klingberg to get the Ducks great value on the trade market ahead of the March 3rd deadline, however his one-year contract clause has changed. Pierre LeBrun explained on last night’s Insider Trading on TSN how Klingberg has informed the Ducks of his preferred destinations whenever he gets moved to, preferably we bet, a Stanley Cup contender:
“He had a full no-trade [clause] until January 1, and has now submitted that 10-team list because it is now a modified no-trade. Ten teams that he could be traded to without him needing to waive his clause. The reality is Klingberg will want to go to a contender, so if it’s a team that makes the best offer to the Anaheim Ducks that actually isn’t on that 10-team list, I think that his reps at Newport Sports will want to work with Anaheim to get that best deal to get him on a playoff team. So I’m not sure that the 10-team list is paramount in this case as opposed to one of those 16 teams headed to the postseason.”
While we do not know which teams ended up on his 10-team list, fans can get a good idea by taking a look at the standings. In the Eastern conference, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins are leading their respective divisons, while in the West it’s the Vegas Golden Knights and Klingberg’s old club, the Dallas Stars.
We have to assume that these clubs are on the defenseman’s list who works to get better to maintain a good value. Lisa Dillman of the Orange County Register recently reported that Klingberg is aware that he’s trade bait this season and has improved since the holiday break.
Now let’s see where he moves next or if he just heads back to Dallas.
