Good news for the Bruins.

The Boston Bruins are on a tear with 5 wins in a row and with a record of 9-1-0 over their last 10 games, but it sounds like the already formidable squad is getting closer and closer to a big return.

On Sunday night, following a dominating 4-0  win over the San Jose Sharks, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery shared some positive news on the status of injured Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.

Montgomery revealed that DeBrusk is set to resume skating on Monday, which will be the first time that he hits the ice since the Winter Classic back in early January. While that is progress, Montgomery tempered expectations by indicating that DeBrusk is still several weeks away from a return indicating that he expects the winger to be back sometime in mid-February.

According to Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe, it sounds like the Bruins home game against the Washington Capitals, schedule for February 11th at TD Garden, could be the next time we see DeBrusk suit up for the Bruins.

DeBrusk was having himself a very strong season prior to his injury with 16 goals and 14 assists for a total of 30 points for the Bruins over 36 games, and hopefully the extended layoff as well as the injury itself won't derail that momentum.
