Last night’s matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights will probably go down as one of the toughest of the season for the Winnipeg Jets. Not only did they ended up losing 6-5 to Vegas, it was later reported by head coach Rick Bowness that a few players took part in the contest despite being very sick.

At the morning skate, it was quickly noticed that star forward Pierre-Luc Dubois was missing. It was however said that he would not miss the game later that night against the Golden Knights. The report was right and Dubois was in uniform, but he missed because he is playing through an illness.

Bowness confirmed after the game Dubois’ status, but also seemed to reveal how he might have contaminated the other players in the dressing room.

“We have couple of guys on IV,” said Bowness to TSN’s John Lu.

During the 6-5 loss to Vegas, Dubois recorded an assist in 15:59 of ice time Tuesday. He skipped shifts in the third period.

As of Wednesday morning, there is no update on whether Dubois will miss any time in the coming week. More information on his status is expected ahead of Thursday’s game versus the Nashville Predators. He has put up 30 points in 28 games so far this season.

Let’s hope he and his fallen teammates get better soon.
