Jeremy Swayman gives crucial update on future in Boston

Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman put together an incredible regular season, posting a sparkling record of 24-6-4 with a 2.27 goals against average, .920 save percentage and four shutouts during what was Boston's record-breaking campaign that would ultimately end in disaster. 

Swayman would get the nod in net between the pipes for the ill-fated Game 7 of their Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Florida Panthers after starter Linus Ullmark had carried the torch through the first six games. And while Boston's season is now over, they're looking ahead to the future with who and who will not be back when the team once again gathers for Training Camp in the fall.

Swayman is among the players on the roster set to become a restricted free agent this summer, but is there any real possibility of him leaving and joining another NHL team? According to the man himself, it doesn't sound as though that's a real possibility. 

“I would like to be playing hockey, and ideally in a Bruins sweater,” Swayman said. “Again, I’m just taking it day by day and letting my agent be involved and take control. I have no doubt it will be a fun contract and good things will happen.”

He also said that he leaves the negotiation process up to those who are better equipped to handle it - his agent. 

“No, I leave that up to the agents and the guys that are good at that. I’m excited for sure, I absolutely love it here and it’s going to be a fun process,” Swayman replied.

The Alaska native has formed an incredible tandem with Ullmark, and their heartwarming and exuberant postgame celebrations have been something that Bruins fans everywhere look forward to seeing. And it sounds as though based on Swayman's comments that they'll most likely be continuing next season.
