Today happens to be the final day for all eligible National Hockey League players to file for salary arbitration, and you can go ahead and count Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman among those who have chosen to do so.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Swayman has chosen to file for salary arbitration with just over an hour remaining until the cutoff deadline later this evening.
Swayman put together an incredible regular season, posting a sparkling record of 24-6-4 with a 2.27 goals against average, .920 save percentage and four shutouts during what was Boston's record-breaking campaign that would ultimately end in disaster.
Swayman would get the nod in net between the pipes for the ill-fated Game 7 of their Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Florida Panthers after starter (and eventual 2023 Vezina Trophy winner) Linus Ullmark had carried the torch through the first six games. Meanwhile, Ullmark's name has been included in multiple trade talks.
The Alaska native has formed an incredible tandem with Ullmark, and their heartwarming and exuberant postgame celebrations have been something that Bruins fans everywhere look forward to seeing. But it remains a very real possibility that their final celebration took place in Florida after what would be their last win of the season in Game 4 of Round 1.
