Former NHLer reports Jakob Chychrun has been traded!

It's finally happened!

After what feels like years of trade rumors surrounding the talented young defenseman, it has finally happened. Jakob Chychrun has officially been traded.

According to a report from former National Hockey League player Nick Kypreos, it appears as though Chychrun will be joining the Los Angeles Kings as many have suspected since he was made a healthy scratch last night for what the Coyotes themselves described as "trade related reasons."

According to Kypreos, who is the first to break the news, it sounds like the return for the Coyotes will be centered around former first round pick (8th overall) Brandt Clarke, who was selected by the Kings at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Update: We now have a conflicting report from The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta who is reporting that the Kings have informed Brandt Clarke that he has not been traded.

Update 2: Scott Wheeler of The Athletic is now reporting that his sources have informed him that Clarke is not being traded by the Kings, adding on to what Pagnotta has already reported.

Update 3: David Pagnotta has now confirmed with Brendt Clarke's agent that Clarke has been informed he has not been traded.

Update 4: It is now Monday morning and there still has been no official announcement of a trade and now one of Kypreos' own colleagues at Sportsnet appears to be refuting his report. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman is now reporting that the trade between the Coyotes and Kings has 'stalled' due to a disagreement over an ancillary piece of the deal.

Stay tuned for additional details.
