The current and former teams of Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube are showing no love for one another on Saturday night.
After things got testy early with Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves on the ice early in the first period, tempers truly boiled over moments later when Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe and St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn decided they didn't like the way the man in front of them looked. So of course, they decided to do their best to make some improvements to one another's faces.
This was a planned affair after McCabe and Schenn did some chatting in the faceoff circle, with both men ignoring the puck entirely and dropping the gloves immediately off the draw. It wasn't the longest fight you're ever going to see, with McCabe quickly losing his balance and falling backwards to the ice, but there were some heavy blows thrown in this one.
Schenn appeared to land some hard shots which may have been what put McCabe off balance in the first place, although neither man was showing any real signs of serious damage after the officials on the ice quickly separated them.
Here is a look at the whole fight between Schenn and McCabe:
