Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk helped put a metaphorical dagger into his former head coach in Bruce Cassidy during last night game against the Vegas Golden Knights, scoring a goal as part of his team's 3-1 victory at T-Mobile Arena and exacting a measure on revenge for Cassidy and Vegas having dealt the Bruins their 1st home setback of the season last week.
And needless to say, it was obvious that DeBrusk was fired up after scoring.
As you remember, DeBrusk and Cassidy weren't on the best of terms, especially last season. It got to the point where DeBrusk even requested a trade out of Boston, though he would later rescind the request and even sign a contract extension.
But you had to imagine it felt good to score against his former head coach, and he certainly implied as much in his postgame comments.
"Yeah a lot," DeBrusk said about his celebration of his goal. "I mean, it’s one of those things that…yeah…uh.…I mean it’s one of things that pure emotion and.…uh.…yeah, it felt really good. I’ll take that. It was awesome.”
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that helping deal a setback to Cassidy felt good for DeBrusk.
