Don’t get any of this wrong. Jack Eichel loves his former Vegas Golden Knights teammate Phil Kessel. When the two played and won the Stanley Cup together this past month, Eichel relied on Kessel’s experience, though when it was time to dish out on the team’s championship parties, the star forward couldn’t help but state that they thought Phil’s best partying days were probably in the past.
On First Up, Eichel explained how great it was to celebrate each victory with Kessel, who gave an epic pre-game speech against of Game 5 that might have led his teammates to get the win and hoist the Cup at home in front of their passionate fans. He explained how Kessel does not like to fly and hated the extra day between games, along with how furious he would be with the team if they forced him to board a flight to return to Florida.
That’s when Eichel gave his best Kessel impression, reminding how the veteran was either the source of other people’s laughing or the object of it himself.
This might be the best Kessel impression out there:
Eichel mentioned how Kessel is a three-time Stanley Cup champion and how he thought no one deserved it more than him.
Kessel is now a free agent, still available on the market and is just eight points shy of 1,000. At 35, he could provide secondary scoring at a good price for a club looking to add a league minimum salary. I am rooting for Kessel to join a contender this season that could go all the way.
Kessel is defenseman a good luck charm.
