After falling to the Los Angeles Kings by a margin of 4-2 on Saturday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs have rattled off 3 straight losses and as you would expect in a hockey crazed market like Toronto there are already some pitchforks coming out.

Of course it is far too early in the season to panic but with the 3 consecutive losses the Leafs are now 4-4-1 on the season and find themselves at the bottom of the Atlantic division with only their provincial rivals, the Ottawa Senators, below them in the division's standings.

Following the loss to the Kings on Saturday night, Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov indicated that he felt the team was lacking belief in themselves, while trying to keep a relatively positive spin on things. Samsonov suggested that the Leafs could probably use a little more positive energy in the locker room moving forward.

“We’ve lost confidence a little bit last three games…" said Samsonov as per Sportsnet's Luke Fox. "We don’t have more smile.”

Samsonov himself did not have one of his better games since joining the Leafs, allowing 4 goals on 29 shots for an .862 save percentage on the night. Despite that though his overall performance this season remains solid with a .920 save percentage and a 2.35 goals against average over his 6 games as a Maple Leaf.
