“If Patrick Kane were to accept a trade somewhere” there’s only 2 teams on his list!
Getting closer to a monster trade?

We all know how upset Patrick Kane was when the New York Rangers chose Vladimir Tarasenko over the Chicago Blackhawks right winger in a trade last week. While he may be bitter, there is a sense that he is still hoping the Blue Shirts can bring him on board before the March 3 trade deadline.
Former NHLer Carlo Colaiacovo has talked to some folks and believes that if Kane chooses to leave Chicago, he is only willing to go to two destinations. This is what he revealed on Tuesday on First Up:
“Based on people I’ve talked to, if Patrick Kane were to accept a trade somewhere, the two teams on his list are the Rangers and the Leafs…”
Other teams have stayed in the mix, hoping to acquire the services of the veteran forward for the postseason. Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reportedly reported the Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights have “confirmed interest” in Kane.
However, none of them are listed on Kane’s preferred destinations, if the list is real.
The Rangers appear to be out of the Kane sweepstakes with the acquisition of Tarasenko last week and, while the Maple Leafs would certainly want to make a splash on the trade market ahead of the deadline, it feels like they're a little too cap-strapped to make this Kane blockbuster happen. A third team could have to be brought into these potential transactions in order to split Kane's $10.5 million annual cap.
The trade deadline is on March 3rd and the clock is ticking on Kane's decision.
