Tonight's lineups for the Penguins and Leafs.

Jonathan Larivee

The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs will clash on Saturday night in a matchup between two teams that came into the season with expectations of being a serious playoff contender. The Maple Leafs have largely looked the part this season while the Penguins have struggled at times but are coming into tonight's game red hot and riding the momentum of a 5 game winning streak.

Both teams will be playing the second of back to back games this evening however and this has resulted in both teams bringing out their backup goaltender for tonight's contest. Backup goaltender Erik Kallgren will suit up for the Maple Leafs with Ilya Samsonov still sidelined with an injury, while Penguins backup goaltender Casey DeSmith will step in between the pipes in relief of Tristan Jarry for the Penguins.

Here is the lineup for the Maple Leafs this evening:

Forwards:
Bunting-Matthews-Nylander
Jarnkrok-Tavares-Marner
Kerfoot-Holmberg-Engvall
Aston Reese-Kampf-Malgin

Defensemen:
Giordano-Holl
Sandin-Liljegren
Mete-Hollowell

Here is the lineup for the Penguins this evening:

Forwards:
Guentzel-Crosby-Rakell
Zucker-Malkin-Rust
McGinn-Carter-Heinen
Poehling-Blueger-Archibald

Defensemen:
Pettersson-Letang
Joseph-Petry
Dumoulin-Rutta

Maple Leafs fans who were hoping to see the debut of recently acquired defenseman Conor Timmins will have to wait a little bit longer it would seem. Of course these lineups could be subject to last minute surprise changes from either Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe or Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan.

Update: Timmins was on the ice for warmups.
