Full lineups for Maple Leafs and Senators on Sunday.
The lineups have been set for tonight's Game 1 in the Battle of Ontario.
The stage is set for the Battle of Ontario and fans on both sides of this upcoming Stanley Cup playoffs series are absolutely bursting at the seams with excitement for this one.
The two intraprovincial rivals will collide on Sunday night when the Ottawa Senators travel to Toronto to take on long time rivals the Toronto Maple Leafs, with both teams now seemingly having set their lineup for tonight's big game.
The Senators showcased their lineup on Sunday morning and, with the notable exception of forward Nick Cousins being bumped off the fourth line, the Sens seem to be going with a standard lineup that will feature no surprises. Here is a look at that lineup:
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Perron-Cozens-Batherson
Greig-Pinto-Amadio
Highmore-Gaudette-Zetterlund
Cousins
Sanderson-Zub
Chabot-Jensen
Kleven-Matinpalo
Gilbert-Hamonic
Ullmark
It will be 29 year old Matthew Highmore that will be stepping in to replace Cousins on the fourth line with Cousins serving as the extra forward during the team's morning skate, although it is unclear at this time why Cousins will not be in the lineup.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will also be boasting their usual lineup with head coach Craig Berube confirming that there would no changes to his forward group for Game 1. Berube also confirmed that Oliver Ekman-Larsson will be ready to go for the first game of the series, a big boost to the Maple Leafs blue line.
Here is how the Maple Leafs lineup is projected to look tonight:
Knies-Matthews-Marner
Domi-Tavares-Nylander
McMann-Holmberg-Robertson
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok
McCabe-Tanev
Rielly-Carlo
Benoit--Ekman-Larsson
Stolarz
There is a ton of hype around this series, so much in fact that I do worry about it living up to some pretty lofty expectations, and now we know who we can expect to see on the ice.
Who do you expect to take Game 1 judging by the lineups we've seen today? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
