Philadelphia Flyers veteran forward Scott Laughton has been involved in trade rumors for the Flyers for quite a long time and it might be soon coming to an end.

Late on Friday evening, Laughton himself got fans, pundits and even insiders talking when he posted a picture of himself and teammates in their own version of the last supper.

Immediately, rumours got louder with everyone wondering what the veteran player knows about the Flyers’ trade plans and where he will be sent in the next seven days.

However, maybe Laughton means that, like the Lord, he will return with his disciples ahead the fateful date, once the trade deadline madness is over.

Several suitors out there need a middle-six center and Laughton fits the bill. Most recently, he has been linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In the past, there were reports that the Winnipeg Jets had attempted to acquire Laughton by offering a second-round pick to Philly.

TSN’s Darren Dreger has reported that the price to acquire Laughton is a first-round pick, or the prospect equivalent of one. The veteran player is still under contract for one year, at $3 million AAV.

On Wednesday, Laughton said: “I understand it’s a business and Danny and Jonesy (have) got to do what’s best for the group in the future. (I’m) trying to help this team win and make a little push here. There’s a week left. See what happens.”

I guess so, we have to wait and see what happens.
