Feud in Canadiens’ dressing room could lead to trade
The rumour comes straight from Montreal:

It hasn’t been a great start to the 2021-22 season for the Montreal Canadiens, posting a 4-12-2 record and struggling to stay afloat without star player Carey Price in between the pipes and injuries piling up in the room.
Defenseman Jeff Petry was expected to take the load from the absences of injured captain Shea Weber and his partner from last season, Joel Edmundson on the blue line, but has not filled in his shoes. With just two assists in 18 games, the defenseman has caused more opposing goals than he’s prevented them… Just Sunday, Petry attempted to steer a rebound to the corner and it caromed in Samuel Montembeault’s net off Charlie Coyle’s visor.
A bad play and fans are certain head coach Dominique Ducharme had plenty to tell the veteran blue liner after the loss.
According to host Jean-Charles Lavoie of TVA Sports in Montreal, a feud might be growing between Petry and Ducharme, which he believes could push the defenseman on the trade block.
In a segment on the show JiC on the air of TVA Sports, Lajoie wondered if the two men are on the same page and suggested that Petry is unhappy in Montreal and might want out.
This start to this season is quite different from the one in 2020 for Petry - no doubt! We can’t imagine that Ducharme would sit Petry out for games with the Habs’ lack of depth. However, Petry will need to find his enthusiasm back on the ice and with his teammates or else he will keep making costly mistakes and the feud will get worse between him and his head coach.
And that could surely result in a trade.
