Fans in Winnipeg aren't going to forget about how former Winnipeg Jets first round pick Rutger McGroarty forced his way out of Winnipeg, and on Sunday they made that extremely clear.

McGroarty, who the Jets selected in the first round (14th overall) of the 2022 National Hockey League Entry Draft, effectively demanded a trade and got it when the Jets sent him to the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier this year. As you might expect in such a situation, that hasn't sat to well with fans of the Jets who are extremely loyal to their team.

On Sunday the Jets welcomed McGroarty's new team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, to the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg and in spite of the fact that McGroarty wasn't even in the lineup the fans in Winnipeg taunted him mercilessly. Throughout the game loud chants of "Where is Rutger" could be heard echoing throughout the building, with multiple videos being shared on social media.

Here is just one example:

And another:

And yet another angle of the first chant:

The Jets received forward Brayden Yager from the Penguins in the trade that sent McGroarty to Pittsburgh, and this was mentioned in the chants as well. Following one of the "Where is Rutger" chants, fans in Winnipeg also chanted "Yager's better" to really drive their point home.

NHL Jets fans are ruthless.
