We get that Patrick Kane would prefer getting traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs or New York Rangers, that does not prevent other teams like the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers from being interested in landing the Chicago star forward.
The latter could be getting serious and insider Frank Seravalli has decided to suggest a trade for the Oilers to add Kane to their roster before March 3rd. The insider could see Kane joined superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in Edmonton, which would be loaded with fire power for the postseason.
This is what Seravalli put on paper as a potential trade scenario between Edmonton and Chicago:
There is no doubt that the Oilers plan on moving Jesse Puljujarvi. And he could benefit from the rebuild in Chicago.
It all seems to depend on what Kane wants. He remains in control as he has a full no-movement clause. We get that he would love to join former teammate Artemi Panarin in New York, however, the Rangers have $1.170 million in projected deadline cap space.
There is a belief that the Blue Shirts might have gone with Vladimir Tarasenko last week instead upon learning about Kane’s lingering hip issues. He as missed four games this season due to lower body injury, and has posted nine goals and 26 assists in 49 games.
Could this be the blockbuster move we see in the last minutes of the deadline?
