Disgusting behaviour by drunk driver who fatally struck Johnny Gaudreau caught in court!

Unbelievable. The guy deserves life for what he did.

The alleged drunk driver who fatally stuck Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau and his younger brother Matthew late last night now looks like an even more terrible monster.

Not only did he allegedly struck and killed both brothers while they were riding their bikes in Salem County, but now he is complaining he has to remain in jail.

In court on Friday, Higgins appeared to sigh with exasperation when he found out he would be held in jail through next week. He is charged in the deaths of Gaudreau, 31, and his younger brother Matthew, 29 and made his first appearance Friday afternoon. He was told that he he was ordered to be heid behind bars until his next detention hearing on Sept. 5, and the New York Post documented how he sighed when told about having to remain in jail by the Salem County Court.

“So…I’m here until Thursday?” Higgins asked Judge Michael J. Silvanioat one point during the proceedings, per the NY Post.

The judge had to explain that, due to the holiday weekend, the usual 72-hour holding period was extended.

Higgins is facing two counts of second degree vehicle manslaughter, and apparently informed officers right away the incident that he had consumed “5-6 beers” before the crash, and even drank while he was driving.

Higgins, who had a bandage on his wrist, appeared virtually from jail and was was expressionless as the judge recounted how he killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Both brothers were set to be groomsmen in the Friday afternoon wedding of the sister, Katie. TMZ has reported that the 1:45 p.m. ceremony at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Gloucester City was canceled in light of the tragedy.

Higgins did not have the support of any family member or friend during the court proceedings. He is currently represented by a public defender, Cody Dooley, who advised him to stay quiet about his case. Higgins plans to hire his own private attorney going forward, he told the judge.

I am stunned that, not only would the selfish bastard would drink and drive, but would complain about being held in jail while two brothers are no longer alive and will not get to see their sister get married, their kids grow up and a family is shattered.

I hope they throw the whole damn book at him.
